Residential 30C Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Tax Credit
The Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Tax Credit, commonly referred to as the “30C tax credit,” gives qualifying individuals that install electric vehicle (EV) recharging property located within an eligible census tract a tax credit equal to 30% of the cost with a maximum amount of $1,000 per EV charging port. Alabama Power offers residential customers a $500 rebate for EV chargers installed at single-family homes. Customers may also take advantage of the EV Night Charging Discount program with discounted rates for charging from 9pm to 5am. A maximum of one rebate is allowed per customer account.
Chugach Electric’s Residential EV Charging Program offers up to $200 in rebates to help offset the cost of installing a Level 2 EV charger in your home. This program is designed to make at-home EV charging more accessible and affordable, promoting sustainable energy solutions.
Entergy is making it easier for customers to adopt electric vehicles with generous incentives for home charging stations. Customers can receive up to $250 off the purchase of a ENERGY STAR® certified Level 2 charger, helping to reduce the upfront costs of setting up a reliable and efficient home charging solution. No more than two credits per location (account number) will be distributed.
UniSource Energy Services offers generous incentives to make installing a Level 2 home EV charger more affordable. Residential customers can receive up to $500 to cover the cost of EV charging equipment and installation, helping you conveniently charge your electric vehicle at home while saving money. A maximum of two incentives are allowed per premise for each charger purchased for home use.
Tucson Electric Power (TEP) offers generous incentives to make installing an EV charger at home or work more affordable. Residential customers can receive up to $500 for installing a Networked Level 2 charger. Rebates will be issued as a credit on a qualifying customer’s TEP account.
Entergy Arkansas, through their eTech Program, offers residential customers an incentive of $250 for the purchase and installation of an Energy Star certified Level 2 EV charger. Customers may apply online and receive a check in approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) is offering their Residential Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Rebate to encourage residential customers to drive electric and support EV charging throughout the service territory. Eligible customers may receive a rebate of up to $1,000 for the purchase and installation of a qualified Level 2 (240-volt) charger and a $250 rebate for the installation of a dedicated EV meter. Customers receiving rebate(s) must submit their application within 12 months of the purchase date.
Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) is offering rebates for electric vehicle charging stations for residents that are AMP customers. Get up to an $800 AMP rebate on the purchase and/or installation of a new electric vehicle charger.
Trinity PUD now offers a rebate for the installation of new Electric Vehicle Chargers. Trinity PUD is offering an incentive in the form of a credit on your device electric account of $500 per qualified charging unit. The rebate will be issued as a credit on the customer’s electric account.
SMUD residential customers may be eligible for a Charge@Home rebate of $500 towards the costs associated with purchasing and installing a Level 2 EV charger. Residential customers may also receive 1.5¢ discount on all electric usage between midnight and 6 a.m. after registering their EV with SMUD’s MyAccount.
Residential customers served by Empire Electric Association are eligible to receive a rebate up to $1,250 for a Level 2 charger and electric service installation costs. A maximum of two rebates per service address is allowed and applications must be submitted within 90 days of purchase and installation.
Black Hills Energy offers residential customers a $500 rebate for the purchase and installation of a Level 2 EV charger. Low-income residents are eligible for a rebate of up to $1,300.
Poudre Valley REA offers their residential cooperative members a rebate ranging from $250 to $1,000 for the purchase and installation of a Level 2 EV charger. Customers must be enrolled in a Time-of-Use rate to qualify for the maximum amount.
San Luis Valley REC offers residential customers who purchase a Level 2 charger a rebate of 50% of total equipment and install, up to $500 for non-managed chargers or $1000 for managed chargers.
Residential customers served by Sangre de Cristo Electric Association (SDCEA) are eligible to receive a rebate up to $1,000 for Level 2 charger installations that are managed by SDCEA. A maximum of two rebates per service address is allowed and applications must be submitted within 90 days of purchase and installation.
MVEA residential customers may receive a rebate of 50% of the total equipment and installation cost of a Level 2 charger, up to $1,000. A maximum of two rebates per service address is allowed.
San Miguel Power Association (SMPA) offers residential customers a 50% cost match, up to $250 for a Level 2 EV charger installed. A limit of 2 rebates per member account are available and is available for both existing and new residential locations.
United Power offers an EV Make-Ready Wiring Rebate up to $500 to their residential customers to offset the cost of electrical wiring associated with installing a Level 2 EV charger.
La Plata Electric Association’s (LPEA) residential customers may purchase their own Level 2 EV charger and receive a rebate up to 50% of the combined cost of the charger and installation up to $250.
The Connecticut Residential Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Program is offered to United Illuminating (UI) residential customers who submit an application for a qualifying Level 2 Smart Charger and/or Wiring Upgrade Rebate(s), Vehicle Connection Enrollment Incentive, and/or Existing Charger Enrollment Incentive through December 31, 2025. Customers may receive up to $500 for a qualifying EV charger and a wiring upgrade rebate up to $500. Participation rebates may also be available and could reach $300/year.
Norwich Public Utilities (NPU) offers eligible residential electric customers up to a $1,000 rebate for the purchase and installation of a Level 2 EV charger. NPU customers must submit a copy of both the proof of purchase and a Letter of Compliance from the city building department before December 31, 2024.
Eversource offers Connecticut residential customers three options, that may be combined, for Level 2 EV charger installations. Customers may receive a $500 for qualified Level 2 chargers. Customers may also receive a $500 rebate to assist with home electrical wiring costs. If claiming a rebate, customers will be enrolled into Eversource’s Managed Charging program.
Cobb EMC provides a $250 rebate for residential customers installing Level 2 EV chargers at their home. Customers may take advantage of the NiteFlex rate provided by Cobb EMC, allotting for approximately 400 kWh for free each month.
Residential members receiving electric service from Sumter EMC may be eligible to receive a rebate for installing a Level 2 EV charger at their home. A rebate of $250 is available after submission of an application with a copy of the paid installation and charger invoice.
Tri-County EMC is helping residential customers charge their EV by offering a $250 rebate on the purchase and installation of any NRTL certified Level 2 charger. Simply purchase the charger and have it installed and a credit of $250 will be applied to the member’s Tri-County EMC bill.
Georgia Power offers first-time applicants up to $150 for installing a new Level 2 EV charger at their residence. Customers must apply prior to December 31, 2024 for chargers purchased and installed in the prior six months.
Ames Municipal Utilities supports residential electric customers in lowering their emissions with their Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Rebate. Customers may receive a rebate of 50% of the installation cost, up to $500. Customers may submit up to two applications per dwelling. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and within 60 days of equipment installation.
Independence Light & Power residential customers may receive a rebate of $250 for a Level 2 EV charger installation. Customers are eligible to apply for their rebate up to 12 months after purchase and installation.
Residential customers receiving electric service from Clarke Electric Cooperative may receive a rebate of 50% for a Level 2 EV charger, up to $500. Rebates may cover costs of installation and charger.
Residential customers receiving electric service from Maquoketa Valley Rural Electric Cooperative may receive a rebate of $500 for installation of a Level 2 EV charger. Customers may also qualify for an additional $200 if they have performed upgrade to their home to ensure it is EV-ready. Rebates are limited to one per household.
Pella Cooperative offers residential customers a rebate of 50%, up to $500, for their purchase and installation of a Level 2 EV charger. Rebates are available for 2024 through their Go Electric! EV Charger Rebate Program.
Access Energy provides a rebate to residential customers installing a Level 2 EV charger at their home. Customers may receive up to 50% of the cost of charger, up to $250.
Eastern Iowa REC wants to provide customers with affordable electrical service. Part of this is by offering a rebate of 50% of the installed cost, up to $350, for a Level 2 EV charger.
Farmers Electric Cooperative provides residential customers a rebate of 50% of the installed cost, up to $500. Customers are encouraged to apply through December 31, 2024.
The City of Naperville is offering rebates for the installation of Level 2 EV charging stations up to $500 for residential use. The completed application and all required documentation must be submitted within six (6) months of installation.
Evergy offers their Kansas residential customers two rebate options for Level 2 charging installations. Customers receive a $250 rebate for installing a hardwired charging station at their home, or a $500 rebate for installation and enrollment into Evergy’s Nights & Weekends billing plan.
Residential customers served by Entergy New Orleans may be eligible for up to $500 for their residential EV charger purchase. Customers may receive $250 for the charger purchase, up to $150 for installation costs, along with an additional $100 for enrollment into Entergy New Orleans Energy Smart program.
Entergy Louisiana, through their eTech Program, offers residential customers an incentive of $250 for the purchase and installation of an Energy Star certified Level 2 EV charger. Customers may apply online and receive a check in approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
Middlebourough Gas & Electric Department (MGED) offers residential customers a rebate up to $300 for the purchase and installation of a Level 2 EV charger. Customers participating in MGED’s Low Income Rate may be eligible for additional funding, up to $450 total, for the purchase and installation of a Level 2 EV charger. Customers will receive the rebate as a bill credit on their electric account.
Danvers Electric Division (DED) residential customers may receive a rebate up to $300 for a Level 2 EV charger installation at their residential service address. Chargers must be UL listed and Energy Star certified to qualify. Completed applications are typically processed within 8-10 weeks.
Taunton Municipal Lighting residential electric customers may be eligible for a $300 rebate for purchasing and installing a Level 2 EV Charger. Customers are limited to one rebate per household. Rebates will be credited to your TMLP account and may take up to 8 weeks to process. Customers may also be eligible to receive a monthly billing credit when participating in the Taunton off-peak charging program.
Residential electric customers served by Wellesley Municipal Light (WMLP) may receive a rebate up to $250 for the purchase and installation of a Level 2 EV charger. In order to receive the rebate, customers must also enroll in WMLP’s Bring Your Own Charger program which rewards customers for off-peak charging.
Westfield Gas & Electric (WG&E) residential electric customers may receive a rebate in the form of an on-bill credit up to $400 for purchasing and installing a wi-fi capable Level 2 EV charger. Customers may also participate in WG&E’s “Dollar A Gallon” Off-Peak Charging Program to earn a monthly bill credit for charging during off-peak hours. Applications must be submitted within 60 days of installation and are limited to two (2) per household.
Residential electric customers receiving service from Hudson Light & Power may be eligible for a rebate of up to $500 for the purchase and installation of a Level 2 EV charger. Customers may also opt into the Off-Peak Charging Program from HLPD and receive a monthly on-bill credit up to $10 for charging during off-peak hours.
Unitil, through their EV Ready2Charge program, is offering residential customers funding up to $700 for Level 2 EV residential charging installations. Funding may be applied towards electrical infrastructure upgrades and/or work needed to install charging equipment. Income-eligible residential customers may qualify for an increased rebate amount of $1,700 for costs associated with electrical upgrades and the cost of the EV charger.
Eversource offers residential customers a rebate to offset the cost of installing an EV charger at their residence. Installation costs may include electrical upgrades, both customer and utility side, along with the cost for connecting the Level 2 EV charger. All eligible customers may receive a rebate between $700 and $1,400. Additional savings may be available for customers who are on the low income discount rate, or who live in an environmental justice community. Applications must be submitted no later than March 31, 2025 and the cost of the charger is not eligible for a rebate.
The Maryland Energy Administration released funding for their FY25 EV Supply Equipment Rebate Program, which offers rebates to Marylanders to expand the state’s electric vehicle charging network. Total funding available through the program is $1.5M. Residential rebates cover up to 50% up to $700 for cost of an EV charger and installation costs for one charger per home. Homeowners, renters, and multifamily residents that purchase an EVSE for their personal use are eligible to submit a residential application. Only one rebate per individual resident. Taxes, shipping costs, and credit card payment convenience fees are ineligible expenses. Funding is Rebates will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available to complete and eligible applications. All funding must be expended by April 1, 2025.
The Zeeland Board of Public Works (ZBPW) Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Rebate Program provides rebates to assist ZBPW customers with the purchase and installation costs of qualifying EV chargers. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The rebate offered is $500.00 for the installation of a qualifying Level 2 (240-volt) EV charger. Participants are limited to one EV charger rebate per vehicle, per ZBPW residence.
Cherryland Electric Cooperative offers residential customers a $800 rebate for the purchase of a Level 2 EV charging station and a $500 rebate for the purchase of a new or pre-owned EV. Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Great Lakes Energy (GLE) is encouraging the purchase of Level 2 chargers and EVs through an incentive of up to $800. The charger must be permanently (hardwire) installed and have data capability.
HBPW offers residential customers a $300 rebate for the purchase of a non-ENERGY STAR certified Level 2 EV charging station and a $325 rebate for an ENERGY STAR certified Level 2 EV charging station. Residential customers must also enroll in a time-of-use rate.
Residential customers owning or leasing a Michigan-registered plug-in EV may be eligible for $500 when enrolling in IMP’s off-peak billing program. The incentive aims to assist customers with costs associated electrical work needed to install a Level 2 home charger.
Lansing Board of Water & Light (BWL) offers up to a $1,000 rebate for the installation of a Level 2 EV charging station to residential customers who purchase or lease an EV. To qualify for the maximum incentive amount, customers must install a secondary meter.
Residential customers taking electric service from Consumers Energy may be eligble for $500 off Installation Costs for a Qualified Level 2 Charger. An increased rebate of up to $1,000 may be available for income qualified customers. For customers who already have a Level 2 charger installed at their residence, they may receive up to 2,500 miles of free driving by earning $10 per month, per EV, for up to 12 months. Customers must elect to be placed on a time-of-use rate.
Detroit Edison Company (DTE) offers residential customers a rebate up to $500 when they purchase or lease an electric vehicle (EV), enroll in an eligible time-of-use rate, and install a Level 2 EV charger. Customers must remain on the time-of-use rate for a minimum of 12 months.
Meeker Cooperative Light & Power Association offers a rebate to its residential members up to $500 for the purchase and installation of a Level 2 EV charger. Customers may apply for the rebate after installation has been completed and must agree to be placed on a time-of-use rate.
East Central Energy offers a $500 rebate to residential customers who own an EV when they elect to install a metered Level 2 EV charger at their primary residence. Customers must also take part in a time-of-use or off-peak storage rate.
Red River Valley Cooperative encourages residential customers who have installed a Level 2 EV charger at their residence to apply for a rebate up to $750. Customers claiming a rebate must participate in a Demand Response Program. Funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis and applications are being accepted through 2024.
Peoples Electric Cooperative offers a rebate up to $800 for residential customers installing Level 2 chargers. Customers receiving a rebate must enroll and have their charger managed by a utility energy management program or by a time-of-use rate. Rebates are in place through December 31, 2024.
MI Energy Cooperative offers rebates to members who are on an electric charging rate. Members building a new home or installing a Level 2 EV charger in an existing residence may receive up to $800.
Clearwater-Polk Electric Cooperative offers rebates to help members take advantage of installing a Level 2 EV charger at their residence. Customers may receive up to $750 per charger as a credit on their electric account.
Residential customer receiving electric service from Beltrami Electric Cooperative may receive a rebate for installing Level 2 EV chargers at their homes. Rebates are up to $500 and customer must participate in the off-peak charging program.
Connexus Energy offers a rebate of up to $500 to residential customers for the installation of a qualified Level 2 EV charging station. Eligible applicants must enroll in a time-of-use rate.
Nobles Electric Cooperative offers residential customers a rebate of $50 per kW of charging capacity, up to $500 for installing a Level 2 EV charger.
PKM Electric Cooperative offers residential customers a rebate of $50 per kW of charging capacity, up to $500 for installing a Level 2 EV charger. Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis until funds have been exhausted.
United Electric Cooperative offers a $250 rebate for make-ready wiring associated with Level 2 EV chargers.
Mississippi Power Company provides residential customers two incentives for Electric Vehicles. Customers may receive a rebate of $250 for the installation of an EV charger at their residence.
Entergy Mississippi, through their eTech Program, offers residential customers an incentive of $250 for the purchase and installation of an Energy Star certified Level 2 EV charger. Customers may apply online and receive a check in approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
New Hampshire Electric Cooperative (NHEC) offers incentives for eligible participants of the Residential EV Off-Peak Charging Program for the installation of up to two (2) Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations on NHEC’s Time-of-Use rate (rate EVN/EVF). Each Level 2 EV charging station may be eligible for up to $300 per charger, with a maximum of $600 per property. Members must be pre-approved prior to installation and submission of final application and supporting documentation must be received by NHEC by 12/31/2024.
Duke Energy offers residential customers a $1,133 rebate for electrical upgrades to support a Level 2 EV charger at their home.
Rocky Mountain Power (RMP) encourages residential customers to charge their EV overnight during off-peak hours by enrolling in the EV Time-of-Use pricing option. Customers may also receive a rebate for 75% of the charger cost and/or installations, up to $200.
Chippewa Valley Electric Cooperative offers residential customers who purchase a Level 2 EV charger of their choice a $400 rebate. Customers must participate in load management program through the Cooperative.
